How we measure

The figures on our homepage come out of Foundation, the management platform we built and operate ourselves. This page defines exactly what each number counts, the time window it covers, and where it falls short — so you can judge the claim rather than take it on faith.

Numbers are recomputed from pre-aggregated totals. No association names, financial positions, or resident information are ever published or exposed.

76

California associations managed

What it counts
Community associations under active management by HOA Nexus, counted as individual records in Foundation with a status of active or current client. Internal test records are excluded.
Time window
Point-in-time count, not a rolling window.
Limitations
  • Counts associations, not homes. Unit counts are not currently tracked for every association, so we don't publish a homes-under-management figure.
141

Work orders completed in the last 30 days

What it counts
Maintenance and service work orders marked complete across all managed associations, drawn from our daily operations logs.
Time window
Trailing 30 days from the measurement date.
Limitations
  • This is our closest available estimate. Daily operations logging began June 2026, so figures for windows longer than roughly eight weeks are not available and we don't publish them.
298

Invoices approved and processed in the last 30 days

What it counts
Vendor invoices that cleared the full approval chain and were pushed to the accounting system, counted by the date they were processed rather than the date the record was created.
Time window
Trailing 30 days from the measurement date.
Limitations
  • "Processed" means approved and transmitted to accounting. It does not mean paid — payment confirmation is tracked separately and we don't currently publish a paid figure.
431

Active portal access accounts

What it counts
Portal accounts provisioned and able to sign in, across homeowner, board member, tenant, property manager, and vendor roles. Staff accounts and accounts not yet linked to an association are excluded.
Time window
Point-in-time count, not a rolling window.
Limitations
  • "Active" describes account status — provisioned and able to sign in — not recent usage. Weekly sign-in numbers are lower and we're happy to share them on request.
  • A small number of owners hold two accounts under two email addresses, so this slightly overstates the number of distinct people.

Refresh cadence

Each figure is verified against Foundation and stamped with the date it was measured — that date is shown directly beneath the numbers on the homepage. If the date looks old, the numbers are old, and we'd rather show you that than imply a freshness we can't guarantee.
